The piece
The Mini Coupé lamp, designed by Joe Colombo in 1967, is a smaller reinterpretation of his famous Coupé model. With its sleek, modern lines and adjustable metal shade, it embodies Colombo’s innovative approach to functional yet expressive design. Its compact size and playful proportions make it ideal for contemporary interiors, adding both character and versatility.

The designer
Joe Colombo was a visionary who, more than designing furniture, designed the future. In the effervescence of the 60s, he understood that the world was shifting towards a more nomadic, dynamic, and technified lifestyle. His historical relevance lies in a total break from traditional static furniture; for Colombo, the home had to be a flexible "machine for living." He must be remembered for his mastery of new materials, especially injection-molded ABS plastic, which allowed him to create fluid, futuristic forms impossible with wood. But his greatest contribution was extreme modularity and the "living unit": rolling block kitchens or beds with integrated control stations. Colombo anticipated contemporary micro-housing and the need to optimize space, turning design into functional equipment. His legacy is the idea that the environment must adapt to the user, not the other way around.

The brand
Oluce, founded in 1945, is the oldest active design lighting company in Italy. Its history is marked by the collaboration with master Vico Magistretti, creator of the unmistakable Atollo lamp, a masterpiece of pure geometric shapes that won the Compasso d'Oro. Oluce is defined by a rationalist, sculptural aesthetic free of unnecessary ornamentation. Their lamps are intellectual icons of design. Buying Oluce means acquiring timeless sophistication; they are pieces that decorate through geometry and light, perfect for elegant and minimalist environments.
