The piece
The Dalù lamp, designed by Vico Magistretti in 1969 for Artemide, is a standout classic of Italian lighting characterized by its sculptural simplicity. Crafted from a single shell of molded thermoplastic, the lamp features two semicircular curved sections —one acting as base and the other as shade— creating a soft, downward-directed light that is gentle to the eyes.
