The piece
The Plico folding trolley, designed by Richard Sapper in the 1970s and reissued by Alessi, is a versatile and space-saving solution. It can function as a serving trolley, side table, or bedside table, and folds flat so it can be stowed behind a door or between furniture pieces. Its frame is made of epoxy-resin lacquered steel, with shelves in polyurethane. Brakes on the rear wheels allow it to remain free-standing even when folded.
